Hey, I'm Ed, a product designer at Coinbase based in San Diego ↘
The last six years have been in fintech and crypto: financial advisor tooling at Northwestern Mutual, staking and transfers at Gemini, and now money movement at Coinbase.
I break complex problems down into simple solutions. But real simplicity isn't about less. It's about unified systems that reveal complexity gradually, simple enough for a beginner and powerful enough for an expert.
Experience
6+ years shipping fintech products. Recent focus: production-ready components from Figma to code via Cursor.
2025 — NOW
Product Designer at Coinbase
Coinbase was evolving from a place to trade into a place to manage money. On the Cash team, I connected deposits, Direct Deposit, earnings, and cash balances into a more cohesive experience for how money enters, grows, and lives on the platform.
I helped lead the shift from Gemini Earn to onchain staking, launching experiences for both retail and institutional customers. I later designed a universal transfer system for crypto and fiat, simplifying how assets move onto Gemini while creating a pattern that could scale across the platform.
Designed internal tools for financial representatives and money-management tools for customers.
2017 — 2020
UX/UI Designer at Boelter+Lincoln
Web design and motion work for regional brands across healthcare, tourism, and finance.
Personal
In my free time, I love watching movies, gaming, and working on cars. I'm currently restoring an old BMW. Oh, and cats…I love my two cats (no guarantee I'll stop at two).
